We have less than a week to wait until the Lakeside Yarn Crawl 2016 begins! It’s no coincidence that the same day, June 18th, is Worldwide Knit in Public Day – both celebrate the community that crafts together!
The Lakeside Yarn Crawl runs from this Saturday (June 18th) to Monday, September 5th. It involves 12 different yarn stores, from Coldwater to Shelburne, Port Elgin to Meaford! To get involved, simply drop by and pick up your Passport (and first stamp!). Visiting each shop will get you a stamp and an entry into the shop’s draw – fill your passport, leave it at your last stop, and it becomes an entry into the grand prize draw!
We are proud to offer an awesome True North prize basket this year – it features a skein of local alpaca yarn from Blue Mountain Alpacas (normally retails for $60!) in a wooden yarn bowl handcrafted by our favourite local woodworker Terry. To accessorize, we’ve included a 3oz bottle of Soak Celebration wool wash, yarn needles, and a needle (or crochet hook!) of the winner’s choosing. Saturday will be the first day you can collect your passport stamp and gain an entry into the draw for this stellar prize~ Learn more about the Crawl and all of the shops participating on the Lakeside Yarn Crawl website.
For Worldwide Knit In Public day, we want to encourage everyone to share in on the fun! If you share a picture of yourself knitting in public to our Facebook page on this Friday or Saturday you will get an extra 10% off your next in-store purchase! It could be on the bus or the beach, at the coffee shop or the cottage, I’d love to see your awesome projects out there~
If you’re one of the knitters who would love to participate in the comfort of air conditioning, our doors are open to you all day Saturday! Come knit (or crochet) with us! We will have several of our newest yarns available to try out and would love to see you~
